Just Say No To Pests In Your Home

Homes everywhere are targeted by pests. Although pests are natural, they should be kept outside where they belong. Simply looking at this article can help you eliminate pests. Read this piece for excellent techniques for pest control.

Use an outside perimeter spray to prevent indoor insects. Windows, doors, foundations and steps should all be treated with the product. Look for cracks and small holes through which pests could enter your home. You should then seal off these places with caulk or whatever filler you prefer.

Are you dealing with ants? Mix borax and sugar to eliminate them. While the smell of sugar will attract them, the borax will kill them. Use a quart jar with equal parts of each. Put the mixture in a jar with holes punctured into the top, then shake it over baseboards and over your home’s foundation.

It is important to keep brush and firewood at minimum a foot from your house. Every type of vegetation is a natural home for just about every pest that you can imagine. These pests will likely come right on into your home if the bush is located near a door or a window.

Fleas are a notoriously hard problem to solve. You can do a number of things to battle this problem, however. The first thing you have to do is use a vacuum every day and then you spray a good flea spray. Always toss out your vacuum bag once you are finished cleaning your living space.

You may believe that your home has no signs of pest problems? However, you should still regularly check your entire home. Termites may rear their ugly heads in the underground areas of your home. Check on the crawl spaces and basement.

Store dry foods in plastic storage containers. Many dry foods come in bags and boxes, and insects can very easily get inside of them. Transfer your dry goods into tightly sealed bins each time you shop. Using plastic containers can keep food fresher and help you avoid pests.

Use hairspray to get rid of flying insects. You can use hairspray safely around yourself and your pets; however, it is harmful to flying insects. Hairspray sticks to bugs and disables them. This is a great option if you happen to have a bee fly in your home and do not want to get too close.

If you’re battling a rat or mouse issue, remember that they eat nearly everything. Any type of food will work when you’re setting traps. In addition, a spoiled food item will also work, so if you are needing to eliminate spoiled food, this can be a great way of doing so.

Keep all food stored away securely to avoid cockroach problems. All open containers need to be sealed in Tupperware of a zip-top bag. Cockroaches are attracted by any sort of food. Make sure that you keep any loose food in containers that can be tightly sealed.

We hope that the tips presented here will help you get the pests out of your house. Exterminators and poison are not always necessary for pest control. Utilize the tips you’ve just read, and you can succeed in permanently ridding your home of annoying pests.
